MediaPower to preview news sharing service at IBC
Citizen Journalism takes front and center for MediaPower at IBC
Genoa, Italy (August 9, 2016) – MediaPower will return to the IBC Show, the premier annual event for professionals engaged in the creation, management and delivery of entertainment and news content worldwide. This 2016, MediaPower highlights the role of citizen journalism in the news acquisition process, as it previews NewsApp, an upcoming news sharing service that aims to bring broadcasters, news networks, and ordinary citizens together into a more efficient and mutually beneficial newsgathering process.
NewsApp is meant to address the challenges in local news acquisition. With NewsApp, broadcasters and news networks can augment their traditional newsgathering process by crowdsourcing news footage from the very people who are present when breaking news happens. For citizen journalists, NewsApp (in the form of a mobile application) gives them a platform to reach news networks and incent them to capture and submit news in real-time.
The IBC exhibition will run from September 9 to 13 at the RAI Amsterdam. MediaPower will be at stand 7.J42 and also hold live demonstrations of its award-winning homegrown solutions like NewsTouch touch-based presentation system, AirGo ingest and playout system, and Arkki media asset management.
Additionally, ProMAX and NetApp, two of MediaPower’s premiere technology partners, will also be featured at the MediaPower stand. Products from both ProMAX and NetApp (specifically NetApp E Series) will be showcased alongside MediaPower’s homegrown solutions.
