MediaPower Tech Partner DDN Expands Storage Tech with Nexenta
After the purchase of Lustre File System and Tintri, DDN next acquires Nexenta
March 6, 2019 – Fresh off the press, MediaPower technology partner DDN has just announced its intent to acquire Nexenta
, the current market leader in Software Defined Storage (SDS) for 5G and Internet of Things (IoT). With this acquisition, DDN is creating a new division¬—Nexenta by DDN.
This announcement is the latest in DDN’s recent series of acquisitions, which also includes the purchase of all-flash storage developer Tintri
last September 2018, and Intel’s Lustre file system
last June 2018.
The acquisition of Nexenta beefs up DDN’s already robust and industry-leading storage technologies, especially in 5G, IoT and enterprise software, along with an expanded presence in enterprise, telco, and service provider markets.
The combination of DDN Storage, Tintri, and now Nexenta puts DDN leagues ahead with a solid and complementary storage portfolio, bringing comprehensive AI, big data, scalable data management, flash and enterprise virtualization, SDS services, and emerging 5G and IoT together into an unparalleled suite of storage offerings.
Being an official distributor of DDN Storage in Italy and France for more than a decade now, these recent acquisitions by DDN mean, not just a stronger storage portfolio for DDN and consequently MediaPower, but a tremendous advantage to MediaPower’s existing customers, and a broader reach into enterprise, telco, and service provider markets as well.
